Bridgeport Reservoir Birding

Overview

From www.monolake.org

This birding hotspot boasts 225 bird species seen over the years!

“Just north of the Mono Basin lies a wide golden valley with a glittering half-frozen reservoir edged up against a pinyon pine forest. Winter is a fantastic time to look for birds in Bridgeport, and this winter in particular has drawn in some rare birds. The reservoir is packed with ducks like Redheads, Northern Shovelers, and Common Goldeneyes.” - Mono Lake Committee

How do I get there?

From Sierra Strange/Hideout Coffee, the marina parking area is 2 miles north on 182 - about a 4 minute drive.

How long is the walk?

This path along the water is long, but we will only walk 3 miles or so. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring a hat.

Bring sunscreen! And reach out if you need binoculars.
